Fibits launch Malayalam online news portal for Cooperative Sector

Tvm: Futuristic Informatics Based IT Solutions (Fibits), a Trivandrum based IT solution provider, has started the first Malayalam online news portal for the cooperative sector, Co-operative News (co-operativenews.com). The website was launched by State Cooperation Minister Shri C N Balakrishnan on March 29, 2012 at a function in Thiruvananthapuram. The project has a tie up with ‘Sahakarana Journal’, which is the mouthpiece of the Co-Operative Union.

In his address, the Minister said, “More than 80% of our state population belongs to co-operative sector directly and indirectly. And today in the present scenario there is not much an efficient system to know the co-operative updates to all. With this portal, people who are loving co-operative sector or people who belongs to co-operative will now able to know the latest happenings in world wide co-operative sector in their own regional language”.

Sumesh M, CIO, Fibits said, “Approximately 10,000 co-operative societies are working in Kerala and all the information regarding these various societies in different sectors will be covered in this website. We expect more than 60,000 visitors per month and our case studies highlight that this will be the only platform for cooperatives to access their required information and news in their regional language”.

Apart from the latest news in co-operative sector, the website features articles on eminent cooperatives, news about Apex co-operative organisations, International National Co-operatives, Trade Unions, Court judgements, etc.

E Narayanan, Chairman, Cooperative Union; K V Suresh Babu, Registrar, Cooperative Union; Kunju Illampalli, Chairman, State Cooperative Examination Board and T Mathew Philip, Editor-in-charge, Sahakarana Veedhi were among those present on the occasion.
